    Factors affecting the use of hydraulic hoses

    Many factors affect the use of hydraulic hoses. Only when the hoses and joints are correctly selected according to the working environment, can the reliability and economy of the hoses be guaranteed. But we must pay attention to the following main factors:

    1. Hydraulic hose size

    The inner diameter of the hydraulic hose should be appropriate. Too small a pipe diameter will increase the flow rate of the medium in the pipeline, which will heat the system and reduce the efficiency. It will also cause an excessive pressure drop, which will affect the performance of the entire system. If the hose is fixed with a pipe clamp or the hose passes through a spacer such as a steel plate, pay attention to the outer diameter of the hydraulic hose.

    2. Working pressure

    The dynamic working pressure of a hydraulic hose refers to the highest pressure allowed by the hose during continuous work. According to the safety factor of hydraulic hoses specified in relevant international standards, our recommended working pressure is usually about one-fourth of the minimum burst pressure of the hose.

    3. Impact pressure and fatigue life

    The selection of the hydraulic hose is based on the highest pressure value of the hydraulic system design. Because the pressure value of the hydraulic system is usually dynamic, sometimes there is an impact pressure, and the peak value of the impact pressure will be much higher than the maximum pressure value of the system. However, there are generally relief valves on the system, so the impact pressure will not seriously affect the fatigue life of the hose. For hydraulic systems with particularly frequent shock pressures, it is recommended to use hose products that are particularly resistant to pulsation.

    4. Temperature range

    The user should use the hose within the temperature range allowed by the hydraulic hose quality specification. If the working temperature exceeds this range, the life of the hose will be affected, and its pressure bearing capacity will be greatly reduced.

    For systems where the working ambient temperature is too high or too low for a long period of time, a hose sheath is recommended.

    5. Chemical compatibility

    If special hydraulic medium is used, the user should ensure that the hose assembly used is compatible with the media inside, outside, joints and O-rings.

    6. Bending radius

    Pay attention to the minimum bending radius of the hose when installing the hose assembly. If the bending radius is too small, it will reduce the pressure bearing capacity of the hose and affect its service life.

    7. Friction

    When the hydraulic hose is in contact or friction with hard objects, it is recommended to add nylon or spring to the outside of the hose.
